Domaining Industry and Dot Coms

Posted July 31st, 2007 by SEO Class Admin

Domaining is growing rapidly and people are starting to realize the true value of domain names.  Dot coms are the most valuable, but .net’s and .org’s are still undervalued to a large extent.  Direct traffic is mainly for .com’s, but with a .net you are able to rank almost as easily in Google and other search engines just by having the keyword matching the domain name.

There are some good tools out there for domain name research and some company’s offer free domain name appraisal by an expert.  I tried this with my portfolio, and realized I still need to grow it, but found some surprising results.  Some people undervalue their domains and sell for much less than the name is worth.

Before you sell always get an appraisal.  There are many places to do this only, so just search and you will find.  If you are serious about the domain industry, you should join a paid forum and start reading up.  The growth in domain name value has trumped almost all other forms of investment the past couple of years and online growth is booming.

If you find a good domain name and would like to let me know about fee free :)

A Houston domaining company and internet investment firm ipvestors.com recently researched and purchased a domain name for a client that was a .net, but a top level one word domain name.  The client will thank us in a few years when he retires and realizes the developed value of their site and domain name.  I know this was a great buy, but time will prove it to the skeptics.
